Town of Woodstock, Alabama Hosts 8th Annual Woodstock Music Festival on May 17th With Country Music Superstar Tracy Lawrence
Woodstock, AL –The Town of Woodstock is excited to announce the eighth annual Woodstock Music Festival, set to take place on Saturday, May 17th, at Holiday Raceway. This highly anticipated community event brings together music lovers from across Alabama to enjoy a day of live performances, delicious food, and great company. Gates open at 3:00 PM and the show will begin at 4:00 PM.
The highlight of this year’s festival is country music superstar Tracy Lawrence, who will headline the event. Lawrence, a celebrated name in the country music scene, is known for his chart-topping hits including “Alibis,” “Time Marches On,” and “Paint Me a Birmingham.” With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Lawrence continues to captivate audiences with his timeless sound and impressive catalog of music.

Also taking the stage this year will be The Southbound Revelers, a local favorite from Tuscaloosa, along with Mobile’s multi-talented Marieo Parrish. Rounding out the bill is internationally renowned guitarist and vocalist Rick Harris. The festival promises to offer something for everyone with a diverse lineup of talent.

This year’s festival is extra special, as all proceeds from the event will go towards building Woodstock’s first-ever municipal playground, to be located at the Arvell Kornegay Walking Track next to Town Hall. The community-driven project will provide a new space for families and children to gather, play, and make memories.

“We are incredibly excited to bring such a wonderful event to Woodstock for the eighth year in a row,” said Mayor Jeff Dodson. “This festival not only celebrates music, but it also brings us together as a community. We are proud to support the development of our first playground, which will serve as a safe, fun space for children and families for years to come. I want to thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to seeing you there.”

ABOUT TRACY LAWRENCE:

With 13M albums sold and 18 No.1 singles, Tracy Lawrence has solidified his status as a cornerstone of Country music for more than thirty years. Stamping a bold exclamation point on his legacy with his 30 th anniversary album, Hindsight 20/20, the legendary Texas Tornado now enters his excitingly fresh next chapter with his new EP Out Here In It, out now.
Retaining his distinctive traditional flare while firmly planting a contemporary foot on generation now, Lawrence crafts the balance of these new tracks into a six-song definition of who he is today, pulling cuts from some of Nashville’s most elite songwriters including Rodney Clawson, Devin Dawson, Jacob Durrett, Trey Lewis, Wyatt McCubbin, Lee Thomas Miller, Ernest Keith Smith and more. While the infectious title track “Out Here In It” and the toe-tapping “Pretty Dang Good” both hold an aura of addictive positivity, the neon lit “I Could Use One” and “Gulf of Mexico” provide slow dance moments, walk alongside the dancehall ignition of “Honky Tonk Up” and the signature essence of the throwback style on “A Cowboy Would.”
Lawrence recently wrapped a spring run with Riley Green on his Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour in addition to selling out his first-ever headlining Ryman Auditorium show in Nashville this past May and a sold-out “Tracy Lawrence and Friends” headlining show at Ascend Amphitheater during CMA Fest. He will soon join Luke Bryan’s Mind Of A Country Boy Tour at Chicago’s famed Wrigley Field in August and spotlight main stages across the country at fairs, music halls and amphitheaters.
Even as he continues to release music and tour, the CMA and ACM Award winner’s ambitions have also extended to numerous media and charity projects. In recent years, Lawrence has hosted the radio show “Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence,” which currently airs in more than 170 markets. His interest in working with younger artists and being able to explore different topics led to the “TL’s Road House” podcast, which has featured guests such as HARDY, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and more.
Lawrence also continues to uphold his commitment to helping those in need across Middle Tennessee and beyond with his Mission:Possible non-profit committed to serving the homeless. From its humble beginnings cooking Thanksgiving dinners for the Nashville Rescue Mission to frying over 10K turkeys to date, the organization has raised more than $1M for those in need. In recognition of his philanthropic efforts, Lawrence was honored with the 2023 CRS Humanitarian Award.
